I expected the battery life on this new phone (s10) to be a substantial upgrade from the 2 year old S8 I had. I am not seeing that.

Any tips to help out the battery life without sacrificing performance...or do I have a dud battery?

I have found with previous phones that you need to give it a week or so to really judge battery life. The first day you get it you have so much screen on time playing with it that the life will seem worse than it is. I don't know if it is true or not but I have heard it can take some time for a battery to be broken in and software learn usage. I found with my galaxy watch I was only getting a day and a half at first, now I get 4-5 days.

Give it a few days, has to settle in and you are likely using it more, setting it up initially which taxes the battery.

I've noticed that as well but yes I would give it some time after the "shininess" has rubbed off a little bit.

Yeah, biggest issue is it new so probably just using a lot more than S8. Also if you are using the adaptive battery I think it takes some time to learn your pattern of useage. When I go to battery it says "Learning useage patterns"

I mean it is hard to judge anything when it comes to battery since you didn't share any information at all.

Was this over the course of days are you literally talking one charge up / drain ? What did the stats show? etc.
