Discouraging news

SuperSaf did his camera review and the photos between the iPhone 13 pro max and the S22 ultra where almost identical.

To be honest, I love it, don't get me wrong the Pixel 6 Pro is nice but I hate the video capture on that phone.

Pixel phones have always struggled with video recording. It has never been good and Pixel 6 Pro isn't much of a difference. Galaxys and especially iPhones have much better video recording.

As far as camera, I wasn't expecting the S22U to beat the iPhone 13 Pro or Pixel 6 Pro in ever scenario. Didn't expect it to be as good, as imo, Samsung haven't had 'the best' camera for years, probably before Google introduced the Pixel. But I'm sure the S22U will be fine for the vast majority of shots and you'd only really know one is better or worse is when you compare photos taken from different phones.

Aside from that, the amount of bugs and issues I've had with the Pixel 6 Pro, I'm happy to have a camera which is slightly worse, for a product that is actually polished.

I've been saying it's a phone, not a camera for years. The camera is a bonus.

But nobody that I know even uses the phone part anymore. Even my boss sends a group text and you definitely don't need anything fancy to send and receive simple texts. All my friends are the same way...text text text and never talk on the phone. The camera is one of the main features that I care about and why I get the Ultra model for the better zoom and upgrade so often. They should change the name of these from smartphones to smartdevices because me and most people that I know rarely even use the phone anymore and they are clearly so much more than just a phone.

Should try talking. I use the phone all day long as a phone. And I consider texting a form of communication, although people should just talk more. I'm referring to fancy extras on cameras, that's a extra to a phone. I know, you can send a picture of the accident on the interstate to Facebook for communicating, I think you know what I'm saying, talking, communicating.

And you are correct, you don't need a fancy phone to do stuff like texting and talking, but fancy phones is reallyall there is. I bought the fold 3 for the folding feature, under screen camera so I could see less of the camera hole I never use, I would pay extra to have no front camera. I bought the notes for the bigger screen. I never buy a phone so I can take pictures of the moon or have animation characters run across the picture, and so on. That's me, and unfortunately I get to pay for cameras I don't need, and that's why I don't have any concern for people that have to pay for Spens they don't use but I do. It's the way it works. Give me the option to pay $200 to get a phone with no front camera and a SD card or bigger battery and I'm on it. Just my opinion.

You hope. Samsung's have bugs and issues too.

To each their own.

Maybe people YOU know; however one small world is not the entire world, the only communications many of us have is a cell phone and for immediately communication the phone is better than a text. Text emergency and see what you get!

Text the neighbor to tell him there is a four-legged problem in the neighborhood. No, call, the phone rings till answered; texts make a noise when received then shut up. Done that and received calls for the same purpose.

For me, the phone is the most important, followed by a computer to surf the net, followed by texts from my banking institutions telling me my account has been used and last, camera(s).

However, we all have different reasons for having a smart phone or even a Jitterbug. Therefore, we all have reasons to purchase one device over the other. And I can say that in the past week; TWO VERIZON stores recommended not to get a Pixel 6 in the location where I live due to signal problems.

As for photos, as viewing photos on the Pixel forum, I have seen a large number of great photos, as I have seen some not so good photos. Same with the S21U.

Yip. Ironically my pixel 6 pro was only for taking pictures. Couldn't rely on it to make calls. Radio is about 20db down on my S21U / iPhone 13.

Dropped calls where it shouldn't and didn't have a signal where it should. Useless as a phone.

Back using my S21U until my S22U comes.

So long as the updates don't screw something else up with the phone! However, more to a phone than the cameras...like the signal quality!
Yes people take the term camera phone literally. If I only bought a phone based on the camera then I would purchase a minimum of 3 a year which would be a good thing for me pockets lol.

Smart device is actually the sub group. Just calling a phone a smart device makes it too broad to classify. Especially when you factor in watches, tablets, Chromebooks, etc. At the end of the day although some may use the actual way of making a phone call less it will still be an essential part of having an actual phone. Also imagine how absurd pricing would seem to pay for something that looks like a phone, but couldn't actually make standard phone calls

I guarantee they got a cease and desist from samsung and pulled the article. There's an embargo on reviews of the phone, I believe until the 25th.

When I clicked the link, the same thing happened to me. Interesting move on Samsung's part...
