Who elects to limit battery charging to max out at 85%?

I did with my S22 Ultra and I will also with the 23 Ultra, I'm probably going to keep this phone for a while and also I charge every morning which gives me plenty for my days usage,

If it fits the way you use the phone, then it makes sense to do it. Especially if you plan to keep it for a long while.

Me, I don't normally keep a phone more than 3 years, so I see no need for me. :)

I started charging my S22 Ultra to 85% but abandoned that practice after about a month.

I've charged it once since getting it on the 13th and still learning the usage, battery looks very very solid .

I took my phone off the charger at 0630. Throughout the day, I purposely used the phone heavier than I normally would. I plugged the phone into the car for Android Auto three times throughout the day, but the charge was minimal, enough to keep the phone at its current charge level at the time.

It is now 2203, and my battery is at 20%. This is the first day of using my S23 Ultra. This seems like good battery life.

I can honestly say that I'm not impressed with the battery over my S22Ultra. Seems about the same to me but maybe that will change as the phone optimizes itself and puts apps to sleep like the S22 did... I was going in with hearing a lot of hype but I'm not seeing anything different than my S22U.

I'm impressed....Been abusing this phone all afternoon. 5hr SOT at 50%!!

Not bad....not bad at all

When all of y'all are doing your battery test, are you going from 100% to as low as possible? I'm limiting my maximum battery at 85%. Just curious on what to do because I want to keep the phone for at least one year.

I charge mine to 100%....

However, I charge mine with a Bixby Routine. I'll explain....lol

I typically wake up at 630am everyday and plug in my phone before bed. But rather than have it continue to charge at 100%. I set my routine to only charge my phone to 85% at 6am. From 6am to 630am the last 15% will charge to 100%.

Hope this makes sense...

Great idea. My Pixel 7 Pro does this. I've not used Bixby routines before but I'd like to do something similar on my S23U so let's see if I can figure it out.

Ok so I charge mine to a 100% and yesterday woke up around 9:30am and I worked from 2-10:30 but I still am on my phone just texting and reading on here. I went ahead and set it by my nightstand when I went to bed around 1:30 at I think 3o something percent and woke up around 9:30 and here is what I got and I charged it to a 100% again and am off to work. I used to charge my 22U in the car just to be on a 100 for work signal isn't the best there but I get on wifi. But to test this phone I am not charging at all to see how it last. But mines not very good cause my screen off time is alot right? I'm sure it's still getting used to my usage. I just don't see how people get 2 days.

I have used my Note 8 during my 2 hours runs and I have strava app running. At the end my battery was always around 20%.
I ran with my new S23U with everything the same, and my battery at the end was at 89%. I was blown away!!!!!!!!!
