Display dying

Hey all, having some real bad luck with my phone I'm hoping others can corroborate to also having happen

Started a few weeks ago with the SIM card. Had moved it from my previous phone, Droid Razr Maxx, and had no problem. Was switching out the battery when it showed no SIM. Knew these things happen sometimes so brought it to Verizon for a replacement but the issue cropped up again

Using the Assistant Tool that came with the phone I used the "repair assistant" to back up everything and reset the phone which fixed the SIM card issue

Had no problem for 2 days until today when just like on a pc when the graphics card is having issues or dying, same seems to be happening to my phone. The screen freezes, but not the function itself, and slowly dims until dark. Yet the touchscreen and everything works as I can type but it's dark. Hit the power button that would normally turn the screen off and then it goes to black

Screen also shows some different colors sometimes when it's having this issue. Seen it before when a computer doesn't play nice with graphics card drivers

Not sure what to do except bring it in for a replacement as I'd rather not get a new phone just yet. Love this one and was planning on getting as much use out of it as possible

Put your phone in safe mode...see if it occurs while in that mode. Let us know.

Morning Chris, thanks for getting back to me

Left for work right after I sent that and with how unreliable my phone was I couldn't write back that the problems continued. Safe mode worked for about 15 - 30 min without issue so I could text, but then the same problems cropped back up again.

Doing some research it turns out others had the same issue and suspect it was the digitizer for one as some had posted here. Was tempted to call LG but didn't want them to fix the screen only to have the problem come back a few weeks later so I'm waiting for the replacement on Monday

Stinks but I can't complain as it's only the 2nd time I've had to replace my G3 since they first came out. Was looking at the G5 and V10 but a friend that has it isn't too happy with the battery life, but does admit to being a very heavy user

I just recently got a 3rd battery so I didn't want to suddenly get something new and have them sit around
