display problem -- black horizontal line

Tonight, I suddenly have a black line going horizontally across the display, about 3/4" from the top of the screen. Phone's only one week old, but I guess anyone can get a lemon. (Sucks, because I have a ZAGG invisibleSHIELD and don't know if it can be remove/replaced.)

So I was just wondering if anyone else had seen this before with the EVO. I mean, obviously this isn't unheard of in general, but I'm mostly wondering if this is a common hardware issue with the EVO or just a fluke. I searched but couldn't find any mention of it, so hopefully this is just an anomaly.

Never heard of it but if a factory reset doesn't fix it then you'll likely need a replacement device. Regarding zags, contact their customer service department. I've heard they are really great and you'll likely walk away with a new zag for the new phone.

Okay, thanks. I just came from the Palm Pre, which had hardware issues galore (although mine never did), so I was just wondering if this was something like that, or just a fluke. Sounds like it's just "one of those things". I'll take it in for repair tomorrow. Thanks again for the response!

Lines through a display usually mean the inverter has gone bad and it will have to be replaced. It is a warranty thing.
