Display randomly light up

I've got an LG G2 (UK Vodafone). At night time (in particular) the display will light up for 10/15 seconds and then go dark again. This isn't such a problem during the day, but at night it illuminates the bedroom! What could be causing it?

Had the same problem, and for me it was an app. It was My Data Manager i had installed, that did it.
