Display screen modes

So I have been trying out the different screen modes available. Does choosing a mode have any effect on battery life?

What mode is good for what occasions?

I think if you look at the picture above the mode selection it will give you a good idea, the brighter and more brilliant the screen is, the more battery consumed.

On my note2 i always left it on the basic setting. I use adaptive display on my note 4 and now 5, it uses more battery, but since i get all day life anyway i like the better looking screen.

Basic is the most battery friendly. In actual testing (using GSam) I am finding it is a few percentage points "friendlier" during a full day.
Personally I am using Adaptive - I like it best.
