Display "sleep" sometimes doesn't work

Recently I've experienced the phone not "going to sleep" after the designated time configured. If I reboot the phone, it will go back to normal (with the screen display going off after 30 seconds).

What would cause the setting not to work? Is there a misbehaving app that makes the phone "think" the display is still active?

That's a good guess. I'd look at settings to see if an app has priority over sleep or always on, not sure what the Motos have for settings.

Also remember that there is a face-detection feature. Is it possible the phone thinks it sees a face sometimes?

I don't think I set that up on this phone, but will check the settings anyway... thanks

I tried looking in Settings/Apps but didn't see anything resembling priority over sleep...

I think I discount the problem. It seems I accidentally set the display brightness to maximum and it was going the sleep setting...at least when I changed the settings down to Midway (and to adjust based on light) it is now sleeping after my (1min.) setting
