Well I went into my local Verizon tonight to purchase an extended battery, while I was waiting I decided to do a speed test comparison with my GN and the new Droid razr. Results are very dissapointing side by side the razr blew the GN out of the water. The Razr would get 17-28 mbps downloads compared to my 6-8 mbps Once I stepped outside I could then get 28 mbps This makes me want to swap over to the Razr I'll give it a week and see what updates may come out.

My nexus is testing much faster than my Thunderbolt ever did at the same locations. Solid 16-20 mbps down versus the 6-12 mbps down the Thunderbolt got.

I'm curious if 4G is having issues here in Denver, CO again. My 3G is faster then my 4G. *sigh* Its been dropping on my Jetpack and GNex.

I don't really care for the test base your experience on every day use. I can tell you this phone is much faster loading web pages then my thunderbolt and my bolt wasn't slow. Did you load websites side by side? If so did the Razr load any faster?

Once I stepped outside I got awesome speeds but in the store is where the Razr at my lunch. If that represents what its capable of indoors I can't imagine how fast the razr speeds will be outdoors. I even took mine out of the case to see if that made a difference in which it did not.

I don't want to sound mean, but some of these threads are really getting ridiculous. If you want to get a Razr, then go get a Razr, there's no need to announce it to everyone in the forum.

Frankly I've had amazing speeds with this phone (hit 40Mbps many times). Also keep in mind, you have to make sure everything is equal (same servers etc).

Very true. Many people using the speedtest.net do not realize that, even at the same time with the same location, the test server could be assigned differently. That will make the result completely useless.

One thing I do miss about moto phones are the radios. At my work every moto devices I had. Had 2-3 bars and constant data signal with this one man 0-1 bars and also death on the data. Same with the rezound when I had my wife's phone.. other than that I'm happy with this even doh I had to return the first one because it had like vertical lines which didn't bother me but one line had to be darker but the new one for some reason has better colors and seem better overall which was weird.
So I'm happy now.

I'm well aware of locations and both were using the same location. I'm not here to bash the GN only to report my findings using speedtest. I did not load web pages but tomorrow I will go back and do this side by side. Speed is speed guys/gals if side by side and a device speed test is 2-3x faster then loading web pages will be as well. As stated just posting my findings.

So, you mean you manually changed the server location on both phones? Did you also press the start test button together? Or sequentially? Just out of curiosity.

So is it safe to say that there is a 4G Radio issue or not? Only reason I ask is because my Rezound and JetPack have full 4G and my GNEX will have one bar and lose it at times.

When both loaded up they both logged onto the same server. Yes I selected run speed test on both devices at same time I even ran them seperately. I probably ran the test a good 20x on both devices. Again once I stepped outside I got 28mbps download so what's this say for our radios? I'm liking the layout of ICS but what good is 4g with the radio as it is?

At home I get about 20mb down. 2-3 bars. Downtown Chicago I get up to 34 down haha. Amazing.

Make sure the rzr wasn't running on a mifi. The store in our neighborhood had it hooked up to a miff they were trying to bundle with it

Dragon,

That was first thing I checked I wanted make sure everything was on the same playing field. Both mine and the Razr were on the 4g network. I'm sure everyone is going to get different results. Based on there location.
