Okay, I go back and forth between these two cases and I'd love to hear from those who have them on their Samsung S3's. I'm looking for a thinner case that isn't that slippery but provides decent impact/drop protection. Buttons exposed vs. covered I'm 50-50 on as I currently have them covered on my old phone which I didn't like at first but then I got used to it and it actually made me feel like it was more protective against elements and against accidental taps. So here are my 2 choices:

Diztronic Case

THOUGHTS - Seems like a good case and gets great reviews but my concerns are the exposed buttons and how people have said it's kind of slippery which concerns me. Cheaper, but then again, they are both reasonably priced so that's a non-factor for me.

Incipio NGP Case

THOUGHTS - Also seems like a good case that might be more durable to accidental drops than the Diztronic based on reviews I've read/seen. The camera is more "exposed" though than the Diztronic...BUT it might not be AS slippery from what I've heard. It's more expensive, but still cheap IMO.

Any thoughts?

Neither of these cases are the one you'd want on your phone if you dropped it. I have the Diztronic and can't imagine another TPU case being worth almost twice as much.

I agree!! I have a diztronic matte black and while its nice, sleek and slim on the phone, I really don't think its going to protect the phone from a hard impact like a dual layer case would.

I just bought the incipio case today at the verizon store. I really, really like it! It has the soft, inner case and then the hard outer covering... I think it would be fine with an accidental drop. Plus, it matches my pebble blue. The inner is grey and the outer case is the matching blue. Quite pleased...

edit... sorry, this is not the ngp case, but another incipio case

Good to know. I went with the Incipio due to slipperiness and it at least mentions drops in its description. Not expecting it to be anywhere near the protection of the bigger, thicker cases, but at 1.2mm thick...it was a nice balance. I get it tomorrow, so we'll see. Wish they had it in pebble blue like you mentioned. Oh well, black looks good too.

Truthfully, I'll get a kickstand case one day as I have Slingbox and have LOVED my Thunderbolt kickstand. Just haven't seen one that I'm in love with yet.

Actually, coming from a thunderbolt with an extended battery this S3 seems like its almost too thin. Love how light it is but I'm just not used to something that thin yet and a case will make it feel a little better in my hand...while still being MUCH lighter and thinner than what I had before.

I totally agree with you man.
I just go the incipio salicylic hard shell case with silicon. Very sturdy and thin. Feels really nice in the hand as well. Out of every case I've ever had this one is my favorite one!!

TPU cases are designed to protect from waist level drops. I had good luck with one on my iphone 4 the 2 years I owned it. Several drops onto concrete and no damage. I don't see the advantage of hard shell cases until you get to something like an Otterbox which is too bulky and just plain overkill for my needs.

After seeing the quality of my $10 Diztronic case I doubt I'll ever spend $30 on a "branded" case again.

Funny...I got the Incipio. Liked it. But the power button was a pain to press and I often had to push hard and accidentally clicked the volume buttons. I'm sure I'd get used to it after a while. But I instead saw a deal on the Case-mate POP case (with a kcikstand) and got that instead. Coming from a TBolt with a kickstand I realized I miss it. And I love this case. Great feel, texture, thickness and a nice kickstand which I use often with things like Slingbox, etc.

I will be returning the Incipio NGP case. My wife got the grey and I got the black and we're both returning it. Colors looked great, really thin, and nice texture, but...eh. Oh, btw...my wife did drop her phone a few hours after putting the case on from counter height and it smacked the wood floors in our house right on the side and no damage at all. Nothing big, just glad I had the NGP case on at that point. And now, I'm sending it back :)

I think you should consider the seidio. I have had the incipio and rearth and returned them both for the seidio with the holster. If you are going to wear it on your hip, there is nothing better!

Just picked up the last blue Incipio doublecover case that my VZW store had and I love it. Power button isn't at all hard to press and it doesn't add much more bulk coming from the Ditztronic TPU. Definitely feels safer when it comes to drops as well.

I like the Incipio case better. I found one at the Verizon store and I think it looks pretty good with my GS3. Might get one that looks funkier next time tho. Bit simple.

I have Diztronic. Although it is a good case, it doesn't work with my Invisible shield :/

I got the Incipio Double Case, very nice, thin, just enough "grab" to make it easy to hold onto. No problem here in pushing the buttons!
