DJ05 "officially" Fascinate ROM released by xda

Installed, and awesome! What was a 50 meter accuracy in my basement is now 4. Yes four meters. And almost instant.

Aw crap. I think I bricked my phone. While updating through Odin3, my screen turned white & froze. After 30 minutes or so, I got a screen with a picture of a pc, an exclamation point & a cell phone. I'm assuming my computer lost communication with my Fascinate. Am I screwed?

Update: I can get to the download screen. However, Odin gets to the modem.bin file and freezes. Grr!

Don't Know what to tell you except to go back to square one, especially if you ever had voodoo installed.

I was just about to post this....grrr just set up my phone the way I liked it lol.

Ok just did it, cool! For some reason when I download the kernel it isnt a "zip" so it wont install, I'll just install a geeknik one I guess.

What a bummer is I was liking my clean rom now I'm back to all the bloatware and crap oh well

I did not have Voodoo installed. Look's like I will have to flas back to stock. Ugh. I guess my Sunday is booked.

No I think you misread, its says if you HAVE VooDoo installed you have to remove it completely. I had JT's clean ROM and Geeknik's Stupidfast non-voodoo and this installed perfectly

Holy crap just tested my GPS, turned it on walked outside and BAM had 10 satellites locked on instantly. Stunning. Now I just need and clean version of this ROM and I'll be happy

Got it working. Had a bad usb port. Plugged it into a different port and it installed without a hitch.

A quick question for anyone who's installed this? For the backlight on the captive buttons which reportedly now follow the backlight settings for the screen, is there a way to disable this, or are they on all the time that the screen is on?

I actually don't mind that they're only on for a few seconds. I had previously installed the longer baclight setting with JT's rom, but found them distractingly bright when reading a web page or anything else, so I promptly went back to the stock 4 seconds (or whatever it is).

I'd love to install this update, so I'm hoping there's a way to not be stuck with the lights on all the time...

It is a zip file, the .zip extension is just missing.

Will this make it into other roms sometime soon? Despite wanting a better GPS lock, I just can't stand to go from superclean to bloated again.

yeah, im about to wipe everything and start over, i flashed so many roms after loading this that i really don't know what i have now, lol. i'll just get stock dj05 and de bloat until someone drops a good stable clean rom built on it.

I got a hold of a Clean blackhole rom about a week ago for dj05 on irc. The guys on irc are very helpful. I'm sure it wont take long for clean rom to be "officially" released but if you want one now, I'm sure they will hook you up on irc if you ask nicely.

UGH.... f'n force close loop of hell when I tried to go back to stock... luckily its not my first encounter with this demon, so it was a minor setback, i think, its still booting up now.... wait for it... wait for it..., wow, its taking its sweet time..... and im.... still waiting.........black screen w/ softkeys lit..... OH COME ON! SERIOUSLY? OK, feel dumb now. accidentally hit the home button instead of the power button in CWM. feel like a noob... OK IM GOOD!

well, no sooner than i say im gonna wait for a dj05 custom rom to drop, sonofskywalker drops blackhole 2.2.1. will be installing shortly. xda effn rocks!

All the roms/themes of relevance have been out for dj05 for a while. If you want jt's clean last I checked it was linked in the topic of the irc channel #redrum_chaos

Either clean or blackhole is fine. For blackhole you end up adding stuff back, for jt's you might delete a few things.

JT has a clean DJ05 as well. Not sure when he will post it up though.
