I want to use my DLNA to access files on my PS3, but it takes freakin 4ever to load up!

I go to the setting and click "File Sharing", then a pop up comes up saying "Organizing files for sharing with nearby devices", and it loads forrreevveerr!!
Is it because I have a lot of music and photos on my SD Card? Does yours do this?

I wonder if the PS3 is the issue. Try the same test to your PC and see the outcome.

If it does work okay to the PC, restart the PS3 and try again to see.

It works with my PC and PS3 but I think it's the phone... Is there another app I can use to access files on my phone through my PS3?

Just goty galaxy note 2 last weekend and was also trying dlna this morning and had the same problem - was loading forever.

Hope someone figures this out.

Use iMediaShare, I use it with my PS3 all the time.

I finally figured out a lame workaround for this since I had to wait for that "organizing files" spinner forever every time I come home. Plus Bubble upnp just hobbled their app with the update which I found out after paying for a licence... Now it doesn't work with AVI files which is like half my movies.

Anyway, to make the checking of "share files" almost instantaneous, don't this:
Dowload and install the free Skifta app. It's a flakey DLNA server which crashes all the time but works for this.
Every time you want to turn on stock DLNA from "share with nearby devices" setting, start Skifta first.
You don't have to wait for it's startup to finish. Just start Skifta, then go to Settings and turn on DLNA.
:)
