DM not Ready, Sim Card not detected error

When I go to settings to check for a software update, i frequently get a "DM not ready, SIM Card not detected" error. if I close the software update screen and re enter it works fine. Never seen that one before, any ideas?

Do you ever have other connection issues? Did you get the phone directly from the carrier, and are you using it on the carrier it was intended for?

wifi bounces pretty frequently, seems to have issues staying connected even in the office less than 50 ft away from my Meraki Access Point, but thats it that I have noticed.. its at AT&T carrier branded unit and still on AT&T, no root or other rom hacks installed. still stock except for nova launcher.
