DNA vs Lumia 928

There is actually an excellent You Tube app made by Microsoft, a decent Facebook Beta app from Facebook and you can switch between apps. I have the DNA and the 928. They both have pros and cons. The DNA battery life is atrocious but the display and Android flexibility make up for it. The camera, blue tooth and call quality I find better than on my DNA. The 32GB of storage is nice too. The battery makes it easily through a full day on the 928 when I am charging my DNA by noon. The 928 has AWS tech ready to go and the DNA does not. No Flash capability on the 928 but the voice command and hands free text reply works flawlessly with my car bluetooth, but not on the DNA. No real notification system on the 928 and limited email and Office docs capability on the 928. I like a lot about both devices and might keep both, but it really depends on your needs. What you can and can't live with.

I have the DNA. I have had 4 android devices in the last 4 or so years. I still can't understand why my Windows Mobile phones (Motorola Q, Q9, samsung i730, HTC Touch PRO, Touch Pro 2) handled BT voice dialing BETTER than every one of my Android phones (Droid Incredible, Incredible 2, Thunderbolt, Galaxy Nexus, & DNA).

That is the ONE thing I wish I had from my old Windows phones ...

Edit: Thanks for your report on the 928, I've been curious ...

I just spent some time on WP Central and was looking for some good info on those using the 928 and after an hour I wigged a bit......

"I'm going to try and not be harsh here and rip into WP8 and the Lumia 928 like a step child that just **** on my Xbox. This platform is making me sick to my stomach. I have an HTC DNA that is turned off and hopefully doesn't find out about my short affair with this phone. I planned on keeping it for the full two weeks before I lose out on getting my money back minus the restock fee. Windows 8 was god awful in my eyes until I tried it for two weeks and now I swear by it.... but I can't see the same thing happening with this phone. I went to find an app like Tapatalk or something to that affect in order to check out what you all think here and what you do to get by while waiting on development. But this is just flat out ridiculous. I see nothing for forums that is worth any money and the WPcentral app costs a buck. Thankfully there is a 5 day trial or I wouldn't of seen the awesome new forum post in regards to a YouTube app. I thought I caught a break until I downloaded the app and it's a horrible rendition of the web browser site and people on here are excited. Are you serious? Have any of you had a flagship phone by Google before?!? You have garbage here MS. I'm disappointed. This is day two of my fourteen try before I buy and I'm ready to take it back now despite all the free trials and subscriptions. This is so 2005 technology. The interface is sexii, I give you that.... but the functionality is gawd awful. I can't switch between apps. Have any of you that love it and does everything you could dream of ever done more than tweet or post a status update on facebook. Ugh. **Throws hands up in the air and walks out all huffy and sh** "

I somehow missed this! Great post, but I have to ask, how did the diehard WP8 fans react to it???

I got booted from the site (or suspended from class; however you want to put it). Nevertheless.... I am just a huge Windows fan and love the platform. XBOX is amazing and I'm looking forward to the XBOX One coming late this year. I had really high hopes for WP8 but it's just not there yet. Neither was Android when I first picked it up but it was fast and fluent enough to get me converted. Yes, there are some nice apps and multi-tasking. But the Google infrastructure is way to far advanced and I took the WP back. The store did not want to take it back because of a bunch of fine scratches which I told them that the material is supposed to be Gorilla Glass 2 (the same as the DNA) and I've had my DNA for 6 + months which looks new still. I told them the phone is cheep and the material is cheep. I want my money. I told my friend at the store that I would let them hold on to all funds until the HTC One comes and I will take it. They were okay with that and now I'm waiting for the One to come to Verizon.
