Do Carrier branded N8s receive all bands after unlocking?

Been going back and forth between purchasing an unlocked N8 or TMO variant N8. Question is, if I bought a TMO variant and then had TMO unlock my phone after meeting their requirements would all the LTE bands then be activated and available on the phone? I've heard that all carrier variants have the hardware for all the bands but are limited to carrier bands when locked.

You have to flash the carriers firmware

I think you misunderstood. I'm asking if I buy a TMO note 8, then get it unlocked by T-Mobile, will I have access to all the LTE bands that normal unlocked phones have vs. just T-Mobile bands.

I have the same question but for AT&T. I can get it unlocked once I pay it off but not sure what that means exactly. Will it work anywhere once unlocked?

I got my answer directly from T-Mobile and looks like all bands are released after unlocking. I would assume the same for AT&T but don't quote me on that.
