Hello, I would like information on how to use my Samsung Stratosphere 4g lte cell phone as an MP3 device? My car has a standard usb port and I can use a memory stick/I-pod for playing music but the usb doesn't recognize my phone as a mass storage devise, I was told I might need a data cable, not just the charging cable? Verizon personnel was No help!! I hope you can be
Thank you

I think you can use the charging cable to connect as USB but you will have to enable USB mass storage in your phone to make your car it as USB.
Did you do that. You might also need an app to make this work and it depends on your car.

Does your car stereo have an AV jack or blue tooth? These would be simple ways to use phone as mp3.

You can use the charging cable for USB. I do so with several devices.

I don't know if this applies to your phone ... the only phone I know that it applies to is the Galaxy Nexus. But... Some newer devices that don't have SD card also don't support the device being recognized as mass storage. They use MTP protocol which your stereo probably can't recognize.

Like I said, I don't know if this applies to you (probably not). But it's the thing that came to my mind.
