do I need a sim card if only use wifi

[Android Central Question]

My tablet Eclipse 8 keeps showing SIM card refreshing after I discontinued it from Verizon phone service. It works on WIFI only, which is fine.

Welcome to Android Central! Most devices don't require a SIM card to work (although certain phones won't let you get past the carrier activation screen when you first set it up). On your Ellipsis, try turning on Airplane Mode (after which you can turn wi-fi back on). That should probably get rid of any SIM warnings.
