My phone is rooted with stock ROM. Do I need to install Busybox? Everything seems to be working fine without it. Confused.
Wow, I can't believe no one ever responded to this. I don't know if you still need this info, but if you do...
Busybox is a linux tool which provides access to linux commands that aren't built into the core Android OS. If you're rooted with the stock ROM and you don't have Busybox, the system should function just fine, but you may come across apps which require root that won't work without it, like Titanium Backup. But depending on how you rooted your phone, you might already have Busybox. Many root methods include installing Busybox.
Quick question.
If busybox gives acess for commands not normally accesable in the android os, can you execute these new commands from a virtual terminal emulator?
I find your lack of faith in android disturbing.
Look in /system/bin - you can execute all of those commands from within a Terminal session.can you execute these new commands from a virtual terminal emulator?
