Do most of you use VPNs?

Is it recommended to use a VPN?

I personally never use them

Or should you always use them if on an unsecured network?

The only time I've used them is if I'm outside my home area or connected to a network I don't trust. I don't pay for one, I either use Google Fi's included VPN or a PPTP connection back to my home router to tunnel my traffic through that when I want to secure my traffic.

I only use one if I'm using public WiFi.

I used NordVPN when I visited China. My wife often uses it when she's using a public wi-fi since her work involves some sensitive data.
