Do newer SIM cards improve radio signal strength?

Did radio signal strength improve when any of you got a new SIM card? I'm saw a post that said cell reception seemed better when an op got a new NFC SIM card.

Not really. The radio reception is not affected by the SIM card since the antenna has nothing to do with the SIM. However, a newer SIM card does mean newer, better options and features that might be supported by your carrier. Maybe by getting a newer SIM card, these options became available and make the calls clearer or have access to a different set of stronger towers. But as far as signal strength and reception goes, the SIM card does not affect those.

Thanks. I have an older sim card from my 2012 GS3 and I put it in my Note 3 that I bought outright last December. It's not an NFC card, but I don't anticipate using that. Do you think there are better options or features on a new SIM card (other than nfc)?

ok speaking of sim cards do you know if i were to buy a note 4 sim card if it would be compatible with my note 3 and or improve my note 3 to any point?

SIM Cards have nothing to do with NFC. At all! And again, newer SIM cards might only improve on the services the carrier may offer, not on phone functionality.

AFAIK, the Note 4 and Note 3 use the same SIM card size: MicroSIM. But they are the same card. There's no such thing as a "Note 4" SIM card. It's been a few years since there were any improvements to SIM Card tech, so the same card that worked for a Note 3 is the very same card that will work with a Note 4.

Thanks again. I understand what you are saying.

If that happens it would enable an improvement of phone functionality for me.

I wonder if and how I can get a newer SIM card for zerivon without affecting my UDP contract?

Usually you can just get another SIM card from them and have them transfer your line to it. However, like I said, unless they changed their SIM card tech after you got your original SIM, there won't be any difference in available services. Furthermore, most of the time the added advantages of newer SIMs are size, contact/SMS storage capacity (which, IMHO, you shouldn't be using anymore unless you don't have a smartphone), and for some carriers, voice encryption and access to 4G networks.

Actually, for use of encrypted services like "tap and pay" and "softcard" the SIM card does make a difference. There is a SIM card model new since "ISIS -- softcard" can out that allows these payment options to work. A SIM from 2012 would not work for these types of functions.

The carrier does recommend new SIM cards when changing phones. No biggie
