Do not call list

I have old comtacts for people that I would like to know if they call me (they won't), but definitely don't want to call them. If I delete them from my contacts, I know it would be a solution, but I still want to know who it is so I don't accept the urge to answer an unknown but familiar sounding number.

Is there a setting or an app that can add a toggle for "do not call, do not answer"?

Not that I am aware of, but I would keep their info, and alter the contact info. Behind their first name I would add 'Don't answer'

You could block the number on your end, either through Android itself or your carrier.

My main concern isn't accidentally answering so long as the contact exists. My concern is butt dialing or voice commanded dialing the wrong contact. Yes I can hang up, but then that person may call back creating an awkward situation.

Blocking on my end is easy (just have to enable in the 3 dot menu). It's the do not call feature I've been looking for for a while.

Maybe seeing if there is something that your carrier can do on their end?

Deleting the contact is probably the best way to go.
