Do not check a configured IMAP mail account

I have two IMAP mail accounts configured in the default email application of my DX (stock GB, not rooted). I want to keep both accounts configured so I can send from either one, but I do not want it to automatically check/pull email from one of them. Is there any way I can get it to check for mail on one account only and NOT check for mail on the other? The options I can see for checking for mail apply to ALL of the accounts at the same time.

Under Froyo, I was able to do this by entering some incorrect server information in the one I did not want to check, and it would then give me a logon error when I reboot the phone and then not complain after that. Now when I try the same thing it will complain with a login error at every mail check interval.
