Do not disturb shuts of music mystery

On my new Pixel 6A I've made some setting that has the result that when the night-time Do Not Disturb schedule kicks in, sound on eg Youtube videos stops. Also the volume control stops responding and is greyed out, so I can't just increase the volume up from zero. I can get the sound back by turning Do Not Disturb off and then on again, but this seems to interfere with the operation of the schedule.

Sound and vision > Do not disturb > Alarms and other interruptions > Media sounds

is already set to Can Interrupt so I assume that's not the problem.

A week or two ago it was working fine, but I spent some time fine-tuning the settings and have messed something up. It has to be simple, but I'm at my wits end looking for the missing setting and hope someone here can help.

Welcome to Android Central! Did you also check your Digital Wellbeing settings? Make sure Bedtime Mode isn't turned on.

What happens if you toggle Media Sounds off, test YouTube again, and then toggle Media Sounds back on again?

Also, if you haven't tried a simple reboot yet, go ahead and do that.
