I'm going to be contacting Zagg about it tonight, but probably won't hear anything either way until Monday I'm guessing. Anyhow, the shield I received (clearly labeled as the Optimus S) has a big (machine cut, since the paper backing matches it exactly) notch on the top right. Clearly they don't have the shape of the phone correct, and are cutting a notch for a needless hole they must think is necessary on this phone. Looking again at Zagg's site right now, the cover they show in the picture ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | LG Optimus S Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield doesn't have this notch. The notch I'm talking about DOES appear (again, uselessly) on the Optimus T picture they show here ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | LG Optimus T Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield. Either way, this shield does NOT completely cover your screen. Don't order it. I'm gonna put in an order for a Ghost Armor tonight.

If I remember correctly that's where the light sensor and proximity sensor are. The cutouts are so the screen protector doesn't interfere with those sensors (yeah the odds a very unlikely that it would but Zagg doesn't want you complaining to them about your sensors being out of whack).

Ugh. Well, if that's the case, I really wish the picture on their site at least accurately reflected that (or explained the reasoning for the hole). Every other device I've ever purchased on IS for has been 100% coverage, so this just seemed extremely abnormal.

I'll try any clarify with them Friday.

Thanks.

I work for a phone retailer and we do zagg installs as well. I personally do about 10 a day.

The notch is most certainly not a defect. Any phone with a proximity sensor, light meter or front-facing camera has a notch removed to prevent interference. This is perfectly normal.

Not to stir the pot but the IS for the iphone does not have cut outs for the sensors. Try bestskinsever.com for a cheap yet durable alternative to invisible shields.

Maybe the Iphone doesn't have interference issues with the sensors and screen guards. I personally haven't had interference with any screen guards, so YMMV.

I am not a fan of the orange peel zagg shields. I bought one once, never again. Any time one has to apply liquid to instal the shield puts the phone at risk. If the phone had gorilla glass by owens corning, I don't think screen protectors are needed. But the secure feeling comforts some. I won't order it, trust me!
