I've looked and can't find a resolution to the wifi drop problem. Has anyone?
Or do we just give up on that issue?
It's really not a big issue for me unless you're doing something like Netflix and using Chromecast.
But then, it's a really big problem. Movie connects and plays then you totally loose control of it when the wifi drops. Can't pause, stop or anything unless you turn the wifi off and then back on for it to be found again.
ridiculous.
Other than that, the phone is still awesome.

Not sure what you've already tried. Have you already turned off Smart Network Switch in Settings>Wi-fi (then Menu>Advanced)?

The one that prevents it from going to sleep? I've got that one set to always on during sleep.

No, there's something called Smart Network Switch (at least on the S5 and S6) that's supposed to optimize switching between wi-fi and mobile data, depending on signal strength. But it ends up causing more problems that it solves for many people.

It's called smart mode. It is under Wi-Fi in mine.

I also have also experienced the Wi-Fi drop on my Samsung s6. After receiving a notification on my phone about going over my data usage of 2gig in under 12 days.. I contacted my provider and explained the issue, also explaining that people are complaining on all the forums of this happening. They have reimbursed me they extra 80bux they were trying to charge for going over my mobile data. They also advised me while I'm at home I should turn of my mobile data to prevent extra charges If Wi-Fi does drop again while being on YouTube Or Netflix for example.
But since doing that I have not dropped Wi-Fi once. Which leads me to believe this is some type of scam. It's almost like my mobile data overrides my wifi is the conclusion I have come too..
Anyway to turn off data on the Samsung s6 while at home to stay connected to your wifi hub do the following:
Setting, data usage, mobile data and slide bar to left to turn off.
Don't forget to turn it back on when leaving the house.
Hope this helps..

My son said this exact same thing. If I turn mobile data off, what do I NOT receive?
