Do you as a droid user feel your phone is superior to the iPhone?

I am a long time Mac user and a long time iPod user. Have had an iPod touch for a good while too. I have to say, unless my Droid goes crazy in the next few months, that I much prefer my Droid to my iPod touch. Much better user experience. It does what *I* want it to do. My only wish is that the battery lasted longer. I seem to have to charge it during the day at work and at night. And even during the charges it gets heavy use. Can't put it down!

Ever eh? Doesn't work like that I'm afraid. Something better will be invented just as when the iPhone first came out nobody saw that coming.

Okay... I'll bite on this. There had been iPhone rumors all over the Apple rumors websites prior to the iPhone launch. Tom Krazit on cnet's news.com had it pegged in November of 2006, and the contract for manufacture was scooped mid-November 2006. They also posted about the iPhone trademark in January 2006 and about an "iTunes Phone" in May of '06. I don't disagree with your overall sentiment... just disagree that nobody saw the iPhone coming.

True, but i don't think anyone could have predicted or realized the impact the iPhone was going to have on the smartphone industry.

Wasn't meant to be literal. The general public and even most of the industry had no idea what the iPhone was exactly, nor how it would change the industry. Those in the know knew it was coming but what it was exactly? Not so much.

Just like title says. Post your comments here. I honestly feel that my phone is superior to the iPhone. Not because of what droid does (haha), but because the apple os for the iphone is the same, with just a few added features. But, the droid has the android os, which I feel is the next best thing, especially with google taking care of their consumers. Just post your comments and let everyone know how you feel. Let the DROID invasion begin!!!

I don't own a Iphone but I have had the oppertunity to play with it for quite a considerable time, and I do think that the Droid as a whole package is better than the Iphone. For starter it has a full physical keyboard and its far more customisable than the Iphone. But if you consider only the multimedia aspect Iphone is in a completely different league.

Do I feel te Droid is superior to the iPhone? Yes and no. I have to compliment apple on their browser, there are things I can do on the iPhone browser but not on the Droid browser (ie
Check my student email account, work email, etc). Also, I'm sorry but apple has their Apple store set up a bit more how I'd like androids. But I did leave my iPhone for my Droid so I'd obviously prefer it to the iPhone. So in a way I feel its superior but the operating system and market just needs a few tweaks in my opinion.

Absolutely Better...

My wife has an iPhone, and I've used it quite a bit, so I've had the chance to compare them pretty carefully. I have to honestly say my Droid wins -- the screen is better, the response is better, and it doesn't run on American Torture & Torment's network. Once the Android apps catch up (which should occur in 2010) there will be no reason for sticking with the iPhone.

However, Apple is one smart company. Especially if the new Google Android phone is well received, Apple will undoubtedly up the technical ante asap.

This will be good for all of us, Nexus, Droid, and Apple users alike. Good old American competition is going to bring us a lot of magic in the next few years.

Reading this I had a thought. I wonder if somtimes companies some times have a new feature just sitting around incase somebody comes up with something better.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if the iPhone comes to Verizon after their exclusive contract with AT&T ends. I think it'll be decision time for a lot of Droid users.

With all the Droid does and Idon't adds it will probably never happen, but that is just my opinion.

I have an Iphone as well as Droid. My handpick is they both hold pros and cons on each devices. "IF" Android Market had as much apps as apple, then competition would be neck to neck but how would the app hold. How many can Droid hold as Iphone 3Gs holds 200+ on screen. ( Yes, I am app whore. ) What I can tell you is as long as Droid keeps its updates flowing and apps running, I would say Android is where the money will withold. But Apple will be dominate wherever they go when contract ends with AT&T.
