Do you guys use tempered glass? Why?

I have a TPU case that has a lip around the screen, so if I drop the phone flat onto a flat surface, the screen is protected. (I do use a plastic protector.) And the case has a good grip, so I'm not too worried. But for people who treat their phones roughly, a tempered glass shield isn't a bad idea. $10 is a lot cheaper if it breaks than replacing the screen (or even the glass).

it's the first time I used one and there's a big difference with the fingerprints on the screen so much better ! I would highly recommend it !

I don't use protective screens.

Yes.

Why?

1. The Note 4 screen WILL scratch.
2. Tempered glass protector has less fingerprint smudge than screen w/o it.
3. Tempered glass is crystal clear so screen resolution stays wonderful. Not so much with the other SP types.
4. In the event of a drop it is more likely the tempered glass will shatter instead of the screen (empirical evidence only).

And, in my opinion, the adhesive helps protect against damage by mechanical/sheer damage if the phone is dropped or banged.

I do for all the reasons stated above. I've used them on previous phones because they work. And there are no cons, imo.

This is replacing a gnote 3 with a tempered screen that I dropped once from maybe three feet and broke the whole front assembly.

I'm rocking a case this time ;)

I'm using a Spigen Tough Armor case and Bear Motion glass screen protector. I'm careful with my phone but now I don't worry about it at all.

The question I have is, which tempered glass protector is best?
I can't seem to find a good one.

Yes, I'm a tempered glass screen protector convert myself. For all the reasons stated above. Plus:
I. It's smooth like writing on the Note 4 screen itself, no drag like I felt on the regular dry apply screen protectors.
2. Easier to put on than the dry apply or Wet Screen protectors.
I feel like it doesn't interfere with the use of the screen and it's better protected. For those who think the N4 Screen will not scratch, you should see my dry apply screen protector on my over two year old Note 10.1 2012 version. Still going strong with the same dry apply screen protector I originally put on it. Looks like hell though. LOL. I remember when I first got that tablet, many people were complaining that the pen scratched the screen. It could be dust or debris that stuck to the stylus, but definitely happened to them. Gorilla Glass or not. I'd rather keep my screen protected, so I can sell later for a better price if I need to. Although, this phone is probably the first phone in a Long Time I don't see myself getting tired of or wanting to get rid of anytime soon.

On my past two Notes I used the thinner Iloome Flex Tempered Glass Screen Protectors. At the time this phone came out they only had the thicker one available. This time when I bought my phone at the Verizon store, they had one and I had them just throw theirs on and I've had no problems with it. I recommend the Iloome, because Very easy to put on and they have a video on the website to show you how easy it is. I see now they have the thinner Screenmate Flex available for the N4. Also, I've dropped my Note 3 and even the N4 a couple times from about 3 feet and nothing broke and screen is fine. The biggest drop was my N3 at 3ft. So I'm glad I have the protection. I'm a clutz!

Case but no SP. Had a Zagg Glass on my Note 3...hated it! No issues so far on the Note 4 without a screen protector. Also, much easier to view in direct sunlight.

I dont use a case but I do have a tempered glass screen protector. I use it for 2 reasons.

1. Scratches - Within 3 days of owning this phone somehow a small hairline scratch appeared out of nowhere. It was only noticeable in certain light at certain angles; however, the tempered glass protector hides the fact the scratch is there.

2. Protection - In case the phone hits the ground at some point. In fact it hit the pavement screen side the other week and not a single scratch to the tempered glass protector.

I use Supershieldz tempered glass and I love it. I don't have any halo on it and its crystal clear, no finger print smudges. I don't even realize I have a screen protector on.

I definitely use tempered glass. I have had two occasions where the protector has broken, but not my screen. One was during a drop and the other when my keys smashed my screen in my tight pants, lol. I peeled off the broken protector and the device's screen remains flawless. There fore, I believe the term "screen protector" is very accurate!

I use the bear motion one as well and love it. Been using it for a month and a half and it's great. Love how it supposedly will break before the screen.

I have the Bear Motion on now, used Supershieldz in the past. Both are excellent. No halo with either.

I have tempered glass on my pass Note 3, and now my present Note 4. Also, have TG on my Tab Pro. Never had the bad fortune of TESTING the tempered glass. Hope I never will.

However, my wife has a S4, and she is a rough sister too. I got her a tempered glass screen for her S4, and sure enough between her and the rough and tough grandbaby, the screen got broke. But, low and behold, the tempered glass screen took the hit. I replaced it for $7.50 and she is good to go again..

When I first heard of Tempered I was all over it.
Easy to apply. No bubbles. Simple.
It was a Godsend. Trying to put on the old film ones took a six pack and lots of bad language and always, no matter if I was in a freaking airtight room, there were bubbles.
still have nightmares

Edit: Mine was 86¢ total so it's definitely worth it for me.

Search this one on eBay. I have it and it's perfect. Only 2mm, very sensitive to touch, looks great, easy to apply, and a great price.
