Do You Mind Having to Unlock Your Phone Every Time You Pick it Up/Open it?

I can easily see how you would not need a lock. Sort of similar to how you won't lock your front door when you are home during the day.

But for me....as I am around a lot of people during my day, I like the idea that my phone is locked. You want to get into my phone...have fun figuring out my unlock code.

If you wanna gain access to my front/back door, have fun getting past two very loud, big dogs and that's provided you can even find my house. Google Street View hasn't even mapped it ;)

You FBI/CIA lol 😂😂

I've never set a lock screen on my phones. Well, I tried it on my first smartphone but it was too much of a hassle. I just registered my irises with the iris scanner to see how it works. It's cool (has a bit of a delay in medium to lower light situations). But, I probably open my phone 50x a day if not more. Doesn't it get old really quick to have to use ANY type of lock screen? I'm not out in the work force so I'm home more than I'm not but even if I did work I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to have to unlock my phone 50x or more a day :o
Disabling Iris Scanner now.

I think you and I have quite similar "OCD" tendencies hehe. I feel exactly like you with this. Personally, I sort of treat my phone like my wallet. So I'm careful where I leave it etc.

Overall, there's no doubt that not having any lock security is more convenient in pretty much all circumstances. For those saying that fingerprint unlocking goes straight to the home screen, there's an option to make it so that pressing the home button goes straight to the home screen too (bypassing the lock screen).

As you've already described, there are instances where the phone is lying on its back on eg. a desk, and sometimes it can be inconvenient to pick up the phone to fingerprint unlock it, when you could just press the home button while the phone is lying on its back. First-world problems!

Aren't they tho! LOL
I've had a Pop Socket on my S7 for a few months but when I
bought the S9+ I put one of those rings on the back. That
thing is UBER convenient! You can hold your phone while using
both hands. I find it really helpful while grocery shopping as my
shopping list is on my phone. No more putting my phone down
while handling products.

I too like the idea that my phone is locked and therefore semi-inaccessible (for a while, anyway). I treat my phone like a wallet (like another user said); and so I just like it to be harder to get into.

I have my screen timeout set to 30 seconds, but my lockscreen set to 10 minutes. I an always lock the screen with a button press, but when I'm using the phone intermittently and it's safe (like at home), I want to just pick it up and use it. (And with Proximity Service I can just put it face down or put it back in the holster and the screen goes off but keeps the lockscreen at bay because it's a "user activity", but the AMOLED drain stops.)

As for someone hacking into the phone, the CIA can hack into the phone whether the screen is locked or not, but I keep my plans to overthrow the government off the phone (just kidding, of course - save the Black Helicopter fuel).

I tried the fingerprint scanner on our Pixel 2 XL and yes, it was very fast but I often have my phone propped or laying down when I want to open it so that would require picking it up when it's not always as convenient as touching the home button.

Does Samsung have any kind of Smart Unlock settings that would let it stay unlocked while at home.

Very little biometric. I have one app I use a fingerprint on and the phone has to be unlocked to get to it. I intentionally use a pin. Someone would either have to guess or make me tell it to them

Must interject.. the Huawei locks every 6 seconds... my fingers really HURT. A little overdone, wouldnt u say ? Also the Fingerprint has to be re set every couple days, but I do not have Gud Fingerprints !

Just posted a Thread for help.
