Do you need a cable box to use the Revue?

We have broken free from the cable company this year and are thinking about getting the Revue. We stream our TV, Movies, Music, etc... via MacBook, Roku and Boxee software right now. We also get basic cable from the wall since we pay for Internet from our provider.
Reading the specs on the Revue it seems as if a cable box is needed to use the thing.
Question:
Is a cable box needed in conjunction with the Revue and our TV?

it's not needed, but you won't be able to watch basic cable through the revue. It'll allow you to stream from your media collections, sources on the internet (including cooperating network tv websites), and services like netflix and pandora.

As the above stated, you can't watch basic cable through but all you would need to do is switch the input on your TV to go from your cable to the Revue. I am assuming that switching the input wouldn't be a big deal since you already deal with several devices.

I'm not as familiar with the with Revue all that much. But having Google TV in general works with basic cable, but you don't get the full effect.

I picked up the Sony 40" Google TV (it has a coaxial in) so I'm able to run basic cable into it. What I can tell you though is, the Google TV experience is not complete this way. So even if you can run the cable service through the TV and into the Revue (as stated above) I can't see you getting everything out of it. I am switching to DirecTV for this exact reason.

If you're going to strictly stream content locally and via the web, get the Boxee Box and use you TV for your basic cable. It's a shame the Boxee Box does not have a coaxial in.
