Do you need to do factory reset after ICS update?

Do you need to do factory reset after getting ICS as I have seen some people even a VZW employee say that it is needed. What are your thoughts? Thanks

Sometimes with a new OS it might help.

It's not necessary but I do a factory wipe prior to loading a new OS on any device. I've been burned once to many times while I was using a Blackberry when an app that was not written for the new OS I was loading would cause so many glitches the phone became unusable. So now, I just do a complete wipe when it's a major OS upgrade.

I did one AFTER the OS upgrade. Not sure if it was needed, just did it for good measure to make sure stuff was cleaned up. After redoing everything, I reran all my Ti backups to get a fresh start.
