Just wondered. Do you really MISS having a card slot? Extra storage? I have everything I want on mine and haven't used 1/2 the storage.

I have found I don't really need it as long as I have Dropbox. I also use the WiFi File Transfer app and have had no issues.

The thing is, Amazon designed this to primarily be an ebook reader, with a few goodies thrown in. Many of us are trying to turn it into a full fledged tablet computer, with some success. It sure would have been nice to have a card slot from the standpoint of convenience, but it is manageable without. Managing it from my computer with the usb cable works fine for me.

I don't miss it (as much as I had thought I would). I seem to have plenty of room although I watch with some concern as my application space dwindles.

I've had the KF since its release date. I have not missed not having the SD card at all, but then, I don't store video. I don't think it's made any difference at all in the way I've used the Fire as a tablet.

I have my Android phone for music (and a 32 GB storage card). I love to use Netflix on my Kindle Fire, read books and browse the web. All things that it does better than my phone. I have a Kindle and love it for reading books, but the Fire is better at night (black screen with white text) makes it easier to read in bed without additional lights.
I don't miss a storage slot at all. Personally, I like the lack of any hardware buttons like the volume rocker, and rotation lock. I prefer these on software, fewer things to break.

I thought that storage was the most important thing when I bought my first tablet and I had all the storage I ever wanted. Then, as apps such as netflix, hulu, plus and google play music started surfacing I found the need for storage less and less. I was down to not using my storage for anything but books and documents. So, my storage phobia soon dwindled and I decided that the Fire had everything I needed and more. And I actually am really happy with it. I do use it like a tablet with ICS on it and it works awesome!
