Do you think 2.3 will be the update fix?

When you get one of these random reboots, do you also hear the thunder sound like when you purposefully reboot?

Not always, I completely lost sound in my boot animation after the update until after I did a factory data reset to (unsuccessfully) fix the reboot issue. I would not go as far as to say that EVERYBODY is having these issues and not noticing it but I do think it is a lot more than are reporting it.

hearing the thunder depends on if your phone ringer is on or silent. at least that is what i have observed

I almost always have it on silent and get the sound now since I did a FDR.

It's a crap shoot. Personally I think every phone that's received the update is rebooting and some people just don't notice.

Honestly its so easy to tell that it's not, when the phone TELLS you the last time since boot. Some phones are just working for some reason. Mine included, I'm sorry for everyone else.

That's true, the phone tells you the the amount of time from the last boot - all people have to do is look. I have not turned off my phone, nor swapped out my battery sense Friday morning (just plugging it in as needed for charging). Time sense last boot: 98:04:37

No reboots.

Not true. My phone has 120 hours of uptime since I ran the OTA update on Thursday morning.


To address the thread topic: I doubt the fix will include the 2.3 update. The problem was caused in 2.2, is being troubleshooted in 2.2, and the simplest path to resolution is a 2.2 update. If Verizon sees the reboots as a serious issue, I don't expect them to delay the fix with all the extra stuff that will be involved in the 2.3 update.
