Do you think the Rezound will get Sense 4.0?

Reading an article on Sense 4.0 and wondering if HTC will bring 4.0 to the Rezound?

I am a newb to Android and HTC. Do they ever upgrade the version of Sense on the phones, or is it only Android versions that get updated?

Was reading that Sense 4.0 will come with 50GB of Drop Box space that is highly integrated into Droid, like a virtual drive in the phone software. Also reading Sense 4.0 will bring with it Beats integration with nearly every app.

HTC does not have a great track record when it comes to upgrading the Sense versions that ship with a particular device.

That said, I would hope there would be some sort of upgrade involved when they ship out ICS.

Or you can do what a lot of us will do, wait for the dev of your choice to bring Sense 4.0 to some superslickedout ROM. I was using Sense 3.5 on my original Inc thanks to Joelz and Nils' ROMS probably 2 months before the Rezound, or Vigor as it was then known, was ever revealed.

I didn't think they had a great track record upgrading Sense Versions on previous phones.

Push comes to shove I will just root it and find a rom.

I don't think there's a way for them to integrate ICS into sense WITHOUT upgrading the sense version.

It will just take them a long time to get it out to people they are pretty careful with there updates. It seems like they like to make sure it isnt going to have lots of issues when it is released. Unlike Acer with there tablet. Want a mess that is.

Seems some of the devs think we are getting 3.6, not 4. They are going on based what has been leaked to them.

I highly doubt it. I don't think HTC has ever updated an older phone with a new major version of sense. Like the older phones never got sense 3.0 even though they got gingerbread. I think we will be stuck with sense 3.6 and would have to relie on dev's to integrate sense 4.0 in to our devices.

HTC seems to market new sense version every year on a newer device and is their main selling point. I hope it is different this time around since the rezound is more than enough powerful to run sense 4.0 but we won't know until the next leak. If there is another leak of ICS rom for rezound and it contains anything other than sense 4.0 than we most likely won't be getting it officially.

They HAVE to update sense for ics. There isn't any way they could just leave it, because ics is just too different.

It's 3.6, at least what the current leaks are.

Doesn't matter what the leaks are. What has been leaked mirrors what the Ville has very closely.

I'll say it again: it is not possible for HTC to just update core files like they have in the past. ICS is too different in too many ways for that to work.

Good thing I have root. As soon as we get a Sense 4.0 leak, I'm sure ROMs will be popping up left and right. But like others have mentioned, I don't think there's a way to integrate ICS with out updating Sense.

Is there official word the Rezound is getting ICS? Or just rumors?

The Incredible S shipped with Sense 2.5 and later received Sense 3.0. However, that is the international version of the Droid Incredible 2 which still has not seen an upgrade to Sense 3.0.

HTC might just not like to update US phones, but I know that at least the Incredible S got a Sense upgrade.

HTC has updated Sense before. The only time when they did not update Sense was when they moved to a version of Sense that needs dual core to be smooth. In that case they did not update it on single core phones.
