I read in another thread that a verizon rep (i know, i know, not a credible source) mentioned an OTA update in the next few weeks.

I would like to see it in March. Do you think we will get it in March?

Gah, who is that? Hard to look at, hope it's not a relative, lol!

Anyone else care to speculate?????

Since we are making guesses. I'm going with by the end of March. I think an update by the end of a quarter and a quarter after the phone has been released seems to be logical as well as reasonable.

They said they would push the update in January, then 2nd week of February. I got tired of waiting and so I rooted and got on a custom mod.

i am running 4.0.4 my Stock GNexus i unlocked the bootloader and then installed leaked update then relocked the bootloader it is a very stable version of 4.0.4 from a few weeks ago

I think it's coming in late march. I was told by a Verizon rep back in January that there would be a ota in feb and march. February came and went and we didn't see one update so idk. I hope since it has taken so long that they have fixed a lot of bugs.

Seems like a thread with this question gets started every month. Its too bad the answers are still the same.

No one knows exactly when, and everyone wants it to be sooner rather then later.

Im getting on the "Sometime in march" wagon since thats what Verizon's Upstate NY Presidents assistant told me (Not kidding, Wrote him about another issue and she called me back) , Plus i'm really craving these new radios all the 4.0.4 ROM users speak of.

Can't they send over improvements one feature at a time like apps get improved. Just send over rotate screen fix and then next week send over another. This is like windows sending no updates until they have enough to send over service pack 1. They would never do that. They send stuff over as it's fixed.

While I love that idea in theory, it could present so many little issues that I can understanding holding out for a "big" update.

The problem with that is the updates still have to go through QA testing from verizon because they use Verizon's radios, so it's not like Google can directly push the update (as they should be able to) OTA like Microsoft pushes updates to PCs. QA through Verizon takes time, and ultimately we would still be waiting forever for updates.

Plus These are cell phones and because of that they NEED to be 100 percent certain they will work as intended when it comes to an emergency.

Isn't this another type of question that is asked each time a thread like this is started? As far as attempting to follow the Microsoft model. There is one huge difference that comes to mind on that one. Microsoft doesn't use a single phone companies network to transfer their updates. Where with these updates, the phone company's network is being used.

I also find some of these threads to include some of the unrealistic and often times unreasonable demands that are similar to what we saw while waiting for the phone to be released. There is a difference between rumors and an actual announcement made by Google regarding a release of an update. I doubt that a VZW employee is going to be privy to Googles development and release schedule, especially for an update like this.

Maybe The Ides of March. Maybe Mardi Gras. Maybe when they get enough money for bloatware apps on board to litter up everyone's phones. I'm waiting for apps from Bestbuy and Target, maybe a free video of Cindy Crawford in tight pants. I remember a Blackberry came with one of John Mayer once. Who cares.

I'd take a wild guess at May/June, we're talking Verizon after all. If you're really itching to "fix" your GNexus, load up the leaked 4.0.4 update. When the official OTA update rolls around, it's really simple to put 4.0.2 back on and re-lock the bootloader.
