Basically, the one thing I've never done on my android device was use Paypal, Halifax etc.

Yet on my iPod, I'll use them. I'm not sure why, does anyone use them on Android?

I use Halifax and Santander apps in the UK. I think they are safe as far as data transfer.
While I prefer Santander bank, and it's app as a whole, I only have to input a 5 digit pin on a large number pad to open the app and the 1st stage 8 digit pin is clearly visible in a dull grey; so anyone overseeing that is a worry.

I prefer the Halifax log in where I have to enter 3 different letters of a 14 digit password, though that's obviously defeatable if someone could track every entry.

They have both recently increased security where I can no longer take a screenshot of my balance, (and hide my account # with an S-Pen), so that's a good thing.

I have not transferred money on an app, so I am not sure if there is another secure level.

I use my banking app for only 1 purpose - to deposit checks. The bank is on the other side of town and I'd rather use the phone. (I'm retired, so I dfdon't have many reasons to drive across town.) The password is 20 random characters and is protected by a very secure password safe.

I do all my other online banking on my desktop or laptop - and both of them are booby-trapped. (Wrong password for the banking app 3 times and the program gets wiped - it gets 0 written to the entire drive space on which the program sits.) I don't care if someone steals my pictures - I care if they steal my money.
