do you use pattern lock?

I have always used a PIN/Password on my devices in an attempt to stop people from using my phone if it is lost.

Im just curious to know how many people use the pattern lock or if there is a better alternate out there.

Why, yes I do use pattern lock.

I think a password or PIN is probably more secure, depending on your pin or password. But I find it quicker for me to unlock my phone with pattern lock, and feel comfortable using it. It does prompt for your google password after so many faild attempts, so that is an added bonus.

I did for a while, but the touchscreen would always think I lifted my finger too early, causing it to tell me "incorrect pattern", even when I certainly had not lifted my finger. And then eventually, it gets to the point where it won't let me unlock my phone because it makes this mistake too many times.

I use it, too. I like being able to leave my device somewhere in my house knowing my brother can't use the phone. However, I'm looking forward to Froyo so I can set an actual PIN number passcode.

Not anymore. I use the pin lock now because it's more secure and I like being able to just swype the tabs to put my phone on vibrate or ring.

Not here. Using the PIN lock in Froyo (Bugless Beast 0.4).

Pattern lock doesn't seem to do much good unless you keep your screen clean. Otherwise your pattern is on the screen in your own finger grease.

There are apps out there if you don't want to wait or root for Froyo.

I use the pattern lock. I know its not as secure, but I can quickly unlock the phone. Having wave secure installed on the phone, I know I can easily lock the phone down if needed.

I use pattern lock due to the fact my droid is on corporate email and my employer requires that.

I might likely jump to PIN style as soon as Froyo comes out.

The biggest problems I have with the pattern lock is:
1. I have screen protector on - and that pattern tends to wear into the protector. So unless you change it somewhat frequently, your pattern dots will be obvious by closely inspecting the phone.
2. The pattern lock is not exactly driver friendly. If I am driving and I want to use my phone, I have to somehow get that pattern in while not running over people - not fun.

I use pattern lock but I noticed that if your screen isn't kept clean, you can see the smudge of the pattern. I'm not saying it can be compromised that way but it's certainly a concern. *shrug*
