Do you use the micro SD card slot?

An old 16GB card. Basically the only thing in there are downloaded Spotify music on high quality. I'm looking to buy a 128GB card though. My tablet has a 32GB card full of books, so videos don't fit anymore. Will probably just swap. I'm fine with 32GB internal memory for phone use, but that's not enough for media. 16GB isn't enough to download the music at extreme quality (320kbps).

I don't really keep a lot of stuff on my phone. I mean I've used up like 15GB on my phone for apps and pictures, and I'm quite satisfied already.

My ZTE ZMAX Pro has 32GB built-in storage and if you're a gamer, that's not enough storage space because a lot of games now take up a lot of space. Some apps/devices allow you to move the game data to the memory card (Amazon Fire TV 2nd Gen for example, which BTW was discontinued because they knew people were using the Amazon Fire TV for other entertainment purposes).

When flying on an airplane, WiFi isn't free so a bigger space for movies, games, and audio books would come in handy.

I have a 200 GB card. I use it for my music mainly, since I have FLAC files, and also for my pictures.

Holy moley, that's huge! That'll be my next upgrade, I've waited years for the 128GB price to drop.. just like I waited years for the 1TB SSD price to drop... totally worth it. For VR content, a 256GB micro SD would help alot.. though actually it's not 256GB but probably more like 215GB (all memory cards are actually a little less in size for software drivers).

I have a 64 gig one, when I buy a new phone, I plug it in and all my media is there. Easy as.

Exactly, been doing this for the past several years and for each Android phone. Couldn't do it when Samsung slashed it on the Galaxy S6 though.

I have a 128Gb card that holds my entire FLAC music library and a few MP4 movies. Without it there's no way I could carry my music library, as nearly all of it is in FLAC rather than the more-compressed (and crappier-sounding) MP3 format. With the nice DAC in the V20, and good headphones, you can DEFINITELY hear the difference.

FLAC + the V20's DAC = eargasm! I don't have much FLAC files but 320kbps MP3s sounds amazing still and is more common. Higher quality requires more storage space.

Try plugging in your V20 into studio speakers.. I have Mackies MR5 MKIII with subwoofer... plug in the aux jack and WOW! Sounds better than my laptop sound card...

I have 64gb SD card in addition to my 32gb internal yet am almost out. Use a lots of apps and media files cause of my work.
Planning of buying bigger SD. For internal no matter how big it is, I will always want an SD card in addition. One thing I do is shoot high quality video with my phone.
Keeping that and other personal stuffs from my phone internal is how I rock.

yeah, screw the cloud... they reduce the quality of your files like pictures..

And you're right, phones nowadays can shoot UHD and 60fps, eats up lots of storage space so you can never have too much space.

With 128 internal I have little need for an SD card

Bet you paid a pretty penny for it... a 128GB microSD + 64GB internal would still be cheaper in price and plus you have more.

A 128GB microSD is around $40 and plus you get lifetime warranty... so pretty much you keep the memory card for life and reuse it.

It's only money which is not an issue for me. If you feel it's too much for you go with what works for you. I like what I have and plan to enjoy it.

You'll probably trash the phone after 2-3 years, the micro SD still be used for life with lifetime warranty.

I don't understand what your issue is.... I'm perfectly happy with my choice and you're trying to tell me why I shouldn't be happy. I'm most likely going to upgrade every year so I'm not going to trash it, I'm going to sell it. It's my money and I'm going to enjoy it the way I see fit. I suggest you do what works best for you.

My 128gb phone was only $549 so I also have no need for the sd card. Between backing up on my computer and to the cloud, the former stuff I used to store on my card is accessible to me no matter what phone I am using.

One thing about lifetime warranties: it does me no good if the SD card goes bad. I can't get to my files and new card won't help. And this is where I have changed my way of thinking. I used to insist on an ad card phone. Not any more.

You don't store your files on your SD card without having it backed up on your computer's hard drive of course. The lifetime warranty covers malfunctioning cards and the idea is you keep the card and use the memory card indefinitely without needing to create eWaste and buying new phones with bigger storage.

I am doing what works best for me and others agree a micro SD card is useful and removing or not having it is a disadvantage for the majority. The point is you pay more for higher capacity, plus there is absolutely no real reason to not have it except for the manufactures to make more money, plus no option to upgrade in the future. I'm bringing it up because I'm seeing the trend happen on the Mate 10 Pro.

Another thing is manufactures are trying to COPY Apple and make their phones as similar as possible to theirs (no headphone jack, no micro SD, minimal/simple design, fast/great camera but nothing else). Don't tell me the Pixel 1 doesn't look like the iPhone cause it looks exactly like it. People will make excuses for it but at the end of the day, the power users lose.

And I think we all agree that the first 15 times we had this discussion we probably figured out whether or not each of us is in favor or not in favor of using this feature.
