Do you wish you would have waited for the Nexus 1?

no, the thing i'm not digging about the n1 is the trackball, if it was an optical trackpad though, and i could see some pictures of that amoled screen in sunlight and i was satisfied with the performance of said screen in that situation...well, then it would have to be on vzw to boot.

so, no i don't. i'm happy for more options for powerful phones on android. should translate to better apps.

now when that other htc phone slated for verizon drops, and if it has that optical trackpad...well, i may just switch.

but then again, i'm switching phones ever 5 months or so anyways, so that would be normal for me. :D

no regrets, the nexus one doesn't do anything the droid can't.

and why they would release such a hyped phone on TMOBILE makes no sense. Especially if they want to compete with Apple.

No regets at all. The droid is a great phone. Also, in my home area I have coverage where folks I know on att and tmobile do not, so a gsm phone for me would be a step backwards.

Not at all. I think 2.1 will speed up our Droid considerably

Speaking of someone who just switched for a Curve on Verizon, I have no qualms at all about speed. If 2.1 speeds up the Droid even more, that's gravy. My Droid is hands down the best phone I've ever owned.

all i can say is even on the custom 2.1 rom, the OS feels more glassy in a way, things move smoother, not necessarily faster, but smoother, like something on wet glass. :p

i think people can stop talking about this phone like it's the "google phone" finally, it's a dev phone now and will be another google experience phone on tmobile (nothing new, as all the other dev phones were essentially released for tmobile as well)

also maybe their new 3G network helped their decision, but i think it was more SOP for google.

for those of us on verizon that want one, i doubt the wait will be all that long after january for the cmda release.

So far I am happy with my droid. As was said before, there's always something better down the pipeline so just have to try and grab whatever is cool and works for you when you have the opportunity.

Not at all. I couldn't be happier with my Droid, and I seldom get jealous of newer devices that are coming out. I'm just [im]patiently waiting for 2.1 :D

No I don't wish I waited for the Nexus One, only because I'd have to switch to T-mobile. If it were on verizon however, it'd be a different story.

I am however a little jealous of the 512mb of ram rather than the 256mb.... not that I'm remotely close to filling all of my memory

I don't see why droid users would really want it, as soon as the droid is upgraded to 2.1 the phones are basically equivalent, save for the keyboard and processor.

This happens all the time with electronics. I bought the Droid, which I am very happy with at the moment, and a few weeks later a new phone that does some things better comes out. According to the Gizmodo article, the N1 is considerably faster than the Droid, and has a much nicer screen. Any regrets on buying the Droid?
gizmodo is only showing a comparison as it is currently. n1 has 2.1 in my opinion its biased as motorola is still behind a revision. If you youtube droid with 2.1 rom as found on alldroid its super fast.

If the phone isnt on verizon, then I'll pass.

ATT, Tmobile, & Sprint are all trash for service.

same here. besides, think about it this way, by the time the nexus becomes available, if you want one, you would have had a few months use out of your droid. or you could wait till they get the kinks out of the nexus after release.

No regrets here. I do know how buyer's remorse can be, especially with technology. Go Droid!

Its like everything else. Are people who got the ps3 reg sorry the slim came out? Are people who got LCD tvs mad LEDs are coming out? Are people who are getting the n1 going to be upset when the n2 prototype pops up in spypics 6mos later? you can keep waiting for the next thing, and thats all you'll ever be doing....waiting

I already think the Droid is super fast, but will gladly take another bump in speed!

Nope, I would much rather have a Droid.

I might have been wishing I'd waited if the Nexus had a physical keyboard and a bigger battery though.

For what it's worth, I've seen 2.1 on the Droid and it's very fast.
