Dock background boring?

Dont get me wrong, the htc one is not without its flaws but believe it or not, what i hate the most is probably the inability to change the dock background or choose to have an invisible dock! I understand you can do so using 3rd party launchers but i like sense and dont want a 3rd party launcher! I assume this feature is not hard to implement so why is there no option for it? Iam also surprised there's no app that allows this to be done yet if you switch launchers its easily done?? I dont get it, what gives?
