I am working in the cybersecurity business and I do have to use proxies. I try to set it up regularly but there is no user/pass option for wifi settings to add. And no matter if I set it up this way in proxy settings or APN settings for cellular data, there is no luck. Nothing, apart from Chrome, gives any authentication to do for proxy. If I enter proxy authentication in Chrome - proxy works only with Chrome and nothing else.
However, if I set the proxy up with IP whitelist - it works.
I do not understand why or how it is that but user / pass is a must option, preferably on stock settings without need of 3rd party apps. How exactly does it work with androids and how to authenticate it? Or is IP whitelist the only option?
In fact, I have the same issue with iOS, except that it does give to enter authentication - but no signs of success are there too.
