dock icon question from new droid x owner

I have had my droid x for a week now and have been spending a lot of time customizing it--came from a palm pre, and there's so much more I can do with this phone. I have launcherpro and want custom text icons on my dock, but when I get them on there, they are too small. I have tried resizing in a photo editor but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I've tried Manup's Simple Word Icons and Dreamlyfe Design. I like the way Dreamlyfe's looks, but that shows up the smallest. Am I stuck with the tiny words or am I doing something wrong when resizing?

LPP's (I have the Plus) dock icons are about 1/3 the size of the same icon on the home screen. I don't think there's a way to change the size of an icon as it appears in the dock because the space available is pre-determined by the launcher.

Check the sticky thread "Post your Droid X Screens" at the top of this forum. You will get all kinds of ideas from there, including the best of different icons available. You can even download wallpapers and some of the specific items from that thread, depending how they are posted.

This was driving me nuts also until I discovered that you have to play around with different fonts, size, and the number of characters. The space is predetermined, (width being the prevailing factor) so you have to experiment. For example "SMS" instead of "Messages", "Tele" instead of "Telephone" and so on. Size of canvas should be 83x83 if I remember correctly. If you have to many characters it will shrink it down for you!
