Does 2.3.6 stop even rooted hotspot/tether?

I've been reading that the new update stops even USB tether but no mention of whether that holds true for rooted devices. Does it?

when it was broken in 2.3.5 it was a few days before a fix was released. i'm sure if that's the case with 2.3.6 the same will be true.
