Yes, it is the first patch update for Lollipop. A good source for Samsung related firmware updates is www . sammobile . com (sorry I cannot paste links yet). Checking for 5.0.1 and note 4 on this site will bring you all the informations you want. Here is an extract

Yes, Lollipop starts with the 5.x.x numbering scheme.

Yes. Lollipop starts from 5.0. if your device shows 5.0 & Above under "Android Version" that means you have lollipop. Device model doesn't matter...
