Does a software update get sent by a notification called device management on personal phones?

[Android Central Question]

I have a new galaxy a11 personal phone and this notification in the notification bar called device management says software update. I also get a full screen pop up that says a new software update is available for your device. This software update will take several minutes... etc.

When I go into settings to see if I have an update I get a notification saying connecting to dm server device management software update while its checking.

Welcome to Android Central! That all sounds normal. If you're seeing that there's an update available in the System Updates section of the system settings, it's legit.
