Does Amazon Market work in Canada?

I'm in Canada so I wanted to get the Fire as an inexpensive Android tablet to surf the web etc and I love that I can install Android Market etc on it. The only thing is it seems online that you need to root it then use Amazon Market to install one of those launcher apps to start the Market. I had thought the Amazon Market wouldn't work in Canada, so even though the launcher is free, is there any issue with it blocking me from downloading it?

I can use a site like unblockus where it gives me a US DNS so it thinks I'm in the USA which works for Hulu and so on, not sure if that works. Or if it needs me to register or something with a US billing address etc.

My main reason for buying it is so that I can install apps outside of Amazon's market but just don't want to get stuck with that not being possible. Thanks!

Ill answer my own question if anyone else asks. No it does not work lol.

Yes, the appstore will work in Canada but there are a few tricks needed. First you need to add a United States billing address to the account and set it as your default address. Don't link your Canadian credit card to it. Redeem an amazon gift card to your account. Voila you can now download apps anywhere.
