I remember using Bixby on my s8+ and it was actually pretty good. Fast forward to the note 9 and it literally doesnt work. In the two weeks I have had my phone Bixby has literally learned **** about my day to day. I get zero suggestions about anything and I never get cards in Bixby home with things like I use to. I call my son every day at the same ******* time. On the s8 Bixby would always have a card saying you normally call this contact at this time would you like to call. That has never happened, I have never had any commute information pop up. Other than being an annoying g button I accidentally hit when I try to screen ****. Is there an actual purpose for Bixby.

I have enabled all the permissions, I have added all my addresses to my Samsung account, I have even added relationships to my samsung account. Still I can not get Bixby to even get me directions to my work. Or to even text my ******* kid with out asking which contact do you want to text. What the hell happen to this service.

I use it and I don't have all the issues others have but I also don't use it to the extent everyone else does either. I need to see what all she can do.

I use it , I say good night and it turns my alarm on and optimizes my batter at once. Also instead of going in and setting brightness. You can say Bixby set brightness 80%. So many things within the phone you can do with it that other assistants can't do. But it does lack things that Google can do also

Lol, I just watched a Sakitech YouTube video saying the same thing. That Bixby is awesome at voice commands for phone operations whilst Google assistant is much better at web/navigation commands.

I intend to fully use Bixby. E.g., "set alarm for tomorrow 7 am", "call (contact name)" etc.

I use it for certain things and has improved but mostly use GA since have google home as well.

I called samsung, and after adjusting some settings and resetting bixby voice. Lets see what this can do. Also I havent seen on 2.0 the whole what level is bixby at thing. Im guessing that is gone now?

Bixby is alright. But admittedly, it was a bit more polished on the Note 8 in terms of ease of use, setup and voice recognition. THE Bixby experience is not exactly the same between Note 8 and Note 9, IMHO.

i tried it on the s8plus, the main problem i had is when i was voice texting or searching it didn't translate near as well as the google voice. i disabled it and went back to google.

on my note 8 and now my note 9, i disable the samsung voice and as much of bixby as i can..

I used Bixby a lot on the Note 8 but since I bought Alexa (amazon dot) hardly at all.
I've had a lot of updates for Bixby on the Note 9 - guess I should try her out

When I had the S9+ I tried it, not bad surprisingly I used it a lot. I guess I liked the points system. LOL

Now with the 9 I set it up. No more points system?

Anyways my first use was a joke. I said "open Messenger." I did...

Using the Internet app, Googled the app.

I'm done. LOL

To be fair I'm not really a fan of these. I don't use Google's or Apple's.

I'm trying to use Bixby but struggle with having to straddle to Voice Assistants (Google Assistant and Bixby). However Bixby IS great for phone functions. I can't get GA or GH to turn on DND mode with a voice command. And while I don't mind using Android Auto, it automatically turns on DND which I DON'T want, so I have a Quick Command via Bixby that opens Android Auto (which ends up triggering DND), then turn off DND, then open Android Auto again. In the car I just say "Hi Bixby, Android Auto".

Also because Bixby can work with the DND function I've found my good night command to work better via her than GA.

I use it nearly every day. I've set up a few quick commands:

"On my way home" sends a message to my wife and turns off vibrate-only
"I have a meeting" turns on Do Not Disturb, turns on vibrate-only, and sets media volume to 0
"Meeting's over" does the opposite of "I have a meeting."

I wish it were capable of controlling Tasker, though.

Me, I'd like it better w/other button. At least set it to non voice assistant.

Accidentally pressing, and no way to totally disable. Almost kept me from buying Note, hoping something better happens.

I am disappointed that Samsung chose to remove the option to disable the button on the Note 9.
ButI try to use it every day. Its not just another assistant, and I see the potential of the technology.
It (like the S-Pen) just takes a bit of practice to get it to do the things that truly set it apart.

Question : does anyone find themselves saying please and thankyou to Bixby /Alexa
I can't help saying please and have even woken Alexa to say thankyou... She replies with 'no worries' or similar
