Does anyone have a good app to use for reading books?

I'm trying to find a better way to read books on my nexus 7, than using just a PDF viewer like Polaris or adobe. I didn't buy the books from Google, I downloaded them and want a good way to read them. I want something where I can scroll left and right to go between pages, and not have to zoom in and out. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have tried so many and other than using google Books for books purchased through them, Aldiko is easily the best one IMO.

For PDF files, I highly recommend EzPDF Reader. It's not free, but us very customizable and feature-packed. It allows for zooming and provides a nice "text flow" view making text-centric PDF's very readable. (FYI, Adobe added this feature back in a couple revs back. Adobe's reader is pretty decent.)

For other ebook formats, the other readers mentioned work very well.

I have to agree with him. I have been using aldiko to read the hunger games, having it ported from my Kindle app. It should get the job done and u won't have to scroll up and down and zoom in and out. At least that gas been my experience with it. But as others have said, give some different apps a try and see which one you happen to like best.

+1 for Aldiko, I tried to Moon+ but I didn't like scrolling down vs. page flipping type action and couldn't figure out how to change it (if you even can). If you have them in your computer, really like Calibre for management/conversion.

I have been using kindle and it works with their files and PDFs just fine. It's free on the play store.

I was going to ask the same question. I found a book I wanted "Google apps essentials" but it isn't available on Google play. I had to laugh at the irony.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations! I got aldiko and its working pretty well for me. Think I'm gonna stick with it. It doesn't have the cool page turning effect that Google books has but its pretty decent. A lot easier to use than what I was using before, thanks again!

Off topic but, I'm guessing thats for app development? I'm trying to learn programming, I got java for dummies to learn the basics as well as a few other android programming books, that's mainly what I wanted the reader for. But if you know a thing or two about it maybe you can help me? I'm wondering how useful these books will be because there somewhat outdated. I don't think any of them were written past 2.2 or 2.3. Do you know if it would be okay to start with those? I just don't want to start learning stuff and find out its irrelevant because they changed the way certain things are done or something. Any help would be awesome, thanks.
