I have the Samsung A35 which came with the Samsung Notes app.
I like that the app is:
1. Free
2. Fast
3. Has some formatting functions (Checklists is my favorite)
4. Can work offline but also share Notes in various ways
5. I do have 1 pet-peeve. While I'm in a Note, when I press, hold & pull up, if I go too far a new page is automatically created & it's not easy to delete
But the real problem concerns how the phone handles some file formats.
When I connect the phone to my computer (via USB) & copy .docx, .pdf or .txt files over to the phone, the phone will only open these files using either:
1. HTML Viewer
2. The installed browser (Vivaldi in my case)
3. Drive (Which I don't have or use)
4. .docx files don't even give me a choice, they just will not open at all
The problem with the choices that do open my files is that I cannot edit the files while using my phone.
It doesn't matter if I go through the Google Files app or the Samsung My Files app, I cannot edit. Sometimes I need/want to edit my .txt files.
Plus, I cannot find where the files I've created using the Samsung Notes app, are stored. The only way for me to copy them over to my computer is to share them (through messages, email, etc.).
I cannot just copy them over via USB because I cannot find them through my computer.
So could someone recommend note apps that are:
1. Free
2. Fast
3. Have some formatting functions (especially Checklists)
4. Can work offline but also share notes in various ways
5. Able to open .docx, .pdf or .txt files WITHOUT using an outside app
6. I can edit my notes (especially .txt file) easily
