Does anyone have problem with Z3 battery time? It was good before and now it is running out fast.

Hello Gents,

I bought an Xperia Z3 (D6653) in 1,5 months ago in Amazon. The phone was working just fine until last week. From the beginning, I had an estimate of 2 days battery (without stamina mode) from the Power Management screen. Since I noticed my battery was running out faster, even with stamina mode on, I checked again the Power Management screen with my battery fully charged and I have now an estimate of 23 to 24 hours battery. Without stamina mode it drops to 5 to 6 hours, CRAZYYYY!! I compared my phone with my friends phone (that has the same model and bought at same time), he still have an estimate of 2 days battery and also, he have more apps running and more screen light on (time and brightness) and still have much more time battery than me.

Does anyone knows anything about this? or any solution?

I am really worried since I got this product from Amazon without warranty. The product is new.

One more detail: I am using Sony dock station (original) for Z3 to charge it.

Look at the battery page in Settings and see what's using most of your battery. Then press the graph at the top and look at the Awake line at the bottom - the phone should be sleeping almost all the time when you're not using it.

Those two things will tell you a lot about how your battery is being used.

(If you've been using that battery until it's almost dead since you got the phone, it may be time for a new one. You should try to never let it get below 40% for longest battery life. 6 months of draining it to 0 can kill it.)

How does this awwake line should be? Here, the awake line kind of matches with the Screen On line (blue with blue and white with white) ... but the Screen On has less blue line than the Awake.

New battery? No way. I got a phone like one month ago. And No, i didn't use it until it dies. I am always recharging with 45...50% ... that how It was before in the end of the day...now it is not like that!

I haven't had any problems with the battery yet and I've had my phone for about a month. But what I have noticed is that my phone's battery tends to go down much faster if I use stamina mode. It's a little weird but I really don't use stamina mode anyway my phone's battery usually last me well over a day going into the next day

If you did not Download a recent app that could be causing the problem, then I would do a factory reset. That normally fixes most problems.

I also never use stamina mode as I charge the phone every night. It seems no matter how much I use the phone I cannot kill the battery in 1 day.

It's also possible that you just have a defective battery or batter cable. I mean, that happens with every manufacturer. TBH, if you can't get it to last 14+ hours out of stamina mode, I would consider it warranty defective. You'd have to convince Sony but if you factory reset and it still does it, it's defective. If you factory reset and it doesn't, then it's something you did (i.e. an app) that caused it.

I'm having a similar issue. Except for me, my battery is draining hugely WHILE IN AIRPLANE MODE! 2 nights ago went to sleep in airplane mode with 59%, woke up with 22%. Last night went to sleep in airplane mode with 29%, woke up and the phone was completely out of juice. The battery usage report shows "Android System" is the hog here, while in the past, before I had this problem, "Screen On Time" was always the biggest hog. Not sure what the heck happened.

If there is larger chunks for Blue awake bars more than the screen on time, then you have an app that is keeping your phone awake while the screen is off. This is what is causing the battery drain.

Have you checked what is high on the battery usage screen?

Nope... it's really strange. Nothing that I can see is doing that. With heavy use from 7am to 11pm, battery went from full charge to 60%. Then set it to airplane mode at bed time, wake up, and it's dead again.

Same here but my phone is 4 months already. I sleep at night with 31% but I woke up this morning drained. Even with stamina mode is turned on my battery drains fast mostly at night. This happen twice
