I'm on the next plan and my cousins 2 year old drained my battery on my phone and lost it somewhere in the house and I've looked everywhere and can't find it! I'm still paying for it with next and it has the mandatory insurance on it. I really want to find it because it has stuff on it that isn't backed up anywhere else and I don't want to lose it by getting a replacement and putting everything back on your phone that isn't rooted and making it how it was before is a pain in the .... If I find it after I get the replacement is it going to be blacklisted? Will I have to go sort it out with AT&T or something? Thanks.

Re: Does AT&T blacklist lost phones?

Phones reported as lost are definitely black listed. If you find the lost phone then you should contact att immediately. They will advise you further.

If course you can get any photos etc off the phone before returning it, if att asks you to.

Don't keep the phone without letting att know as that could be insurance fraud. Obviously you didn't have any malicious intent, however, it could still be a hassle.

Well, a lost phone would get blacklisted (the IMEI). So if you put in a claim they would mark it as lost and give you a new phone.

If you went and found the phone, I would assume that you would have to notify AT&T and tell them that you found the old unit. They would most likely tell you that you have to ship your old phone to the insurance company. But you could at least get your stuff off of it before sending it out.

Unless you then buy the phone outright, I don't see any scenario where you can keep it.
